This Privacy Policy describes how Make Sense Reading ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our iOS application and our website at makesensereading.online (together, the "Service"). This policy is designed to comply with the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, the GDPR, and the CCPA.
1. Information we collect
Account data. If you create an account, we store the email address and display name you provide.
Content you create. Books you add, reading sessions, notes, covers you upload, and chats with the in-app AI companion.
Usage data. Anonymous diagnostics such as crashes, performance metrics, and feature usage to improve the app.
Device data. Device model, OS version, and language — used only to deliver the Service.
Cookies (website only). Strictly necessary cookies and, with your consent, analytics cookies to understand site traffic.
2. How we use information
- To provide and maintain the Service.
- To sync your library, sessions and chats across your devices.
- To improve features, fix bugs and prevent abuse.
- To respond to your support requests.
3. Data we do NOT collect
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites — Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt is therefore not required by our app.
4. Third-party services
We rely on a small set of trusted processors: cloud hosting, crash reporting, and an AI provider that powers the in-app chat. Chat messages are sent to the AI provider only to generate a response and are not used to train third-party models.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account; we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where law requires us to retain it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at privacy@makesensereading.online.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, to protect your data.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
